Volunteer Mentors Needed

Make a Difference in a Young Person’s Life

At Headspace, we believe that every young person deserves guidance, encouragement, and support to navigate life’s challenges. As a Volunteer Youth Mentor, you can play a crucial role in helping young people in the North Cotswolds build confidence, resilience, and a positive outlook on life.

What is a Youth Mentor? A Youth Mentor is a trusted adult who meets regularly with a young person to provide support, encouragement, and a listening ear. Our mentors are trained to offer guidance to young people who may be struggling with school, relationships, mental health, or other personal challenges. By volunteering as a mentor, you can make a real difference in a young person’s life.

Who Can Be a Mentor? We are looking for kind, patient, and reliable adults who:

  • Are aged 21 or over

  • Can commit to meeting with a young person for one hour per week for at least six months

  • Are good listeners and non-judgemental

  • Want to make a difference in their community

  • Are willing to complete our mentor training programme

No prior experience in youth work or mentoring is required – just a willingness to support a young person and help them reach their potential.

What Does Mentoring Involve?

  • Weekly one-to-one sessions with a young person in a safe and relaxed setting

  • Helping them set and work towards personal goals

  • Encouraging positive decision-making and self-confidence

  • Providing emotional support and a stable presence in their life

  • Working alongside Headspace’s team to ensure they receive the right support

Why Become a Mentor?

  • Gain valuable experience in youth mentoring and mental health support

  • Develop new skills in communication, coaching, and leadership
