What does resilience mean?

We talk a lot about resilience but what does it really mean and how can it help us?

 

Resilience is your ability to cope with difficult events and situations in life.

 

It can help protect young people against mental health difficulties such as anxiety and helps us to keep going both physically and emotionally. 

 

It’s isn’t about putting up with something tough or coping on your own. At Headspace we work together with young people to teach problem solving skills, we let them learn from their mistakes, manage their emotions and provide space and a friendly team to be themselves and talk about their worries if they choose to.

 We hope that spending time with our caring, fun and patient team who provide counselling, 121 support and group work, we can help young people to build their resilience 💜
